The challenge
The Grenoble Hospital Center is a site open to the city and its population. The tram passes through the different buildings. No wall surrounds it, so the hospital is accessible to everyone.
Very busy place, it was necessary to set up an access control to limit the access to the care areas and operating theaters, sensitive places which it was absolutely necessary to protect from intrusions and vandalism.
The solution
A small investment in Aperio® wireless locks has transformed hospital security. About 20 Aperio® escutcheons and cylinders were installed in the building, connected via communication hubs to access control. Previously, the fact that the site was fully open to the public posed real risks of intrusion. Theft of property was widespread. With the Aperio® wireless access control system, there was an immediate drop in theft from the premises. Access doors to sensitive areas are protected with Aperio® wireless readers. They can only be opened with RFID badges given to authorized personnel.
Aperio® online technology allows hospital security managers to manage access rights and access with real-time information. The CHU also chose Aperio® readers powered by batteries for their ease of ensuring internal maintenance. A quick training session was organized by the partner Castel. Maintenance is extremely simple.
" The hospital staff was looking for an easy-to-use solution. The Aperio® wireless access control solution guarantees a very high level of security while allowing scalable control as needed. "
