The challenge
A new 5-star hotel in Dubai’s Healthcare City, the Hyatt Regency Dubai Creek Heights has 464 luxury rooms spread over 34 floors. It caters to both business and leisure travellers. The hotel required a new electronic access control system for its non-public facing areas, including administrative back-office space. The job demanded premium build quality that is found throughout all Hyatt Regency properties.
Key requirements included:
- Electronic locks that would integrate seam-lessly with the Gallagher access control system installed at the hotel
- A full range of both online and offline locks that could be deployed where appropriate
- Locks that are wireless, and with a design that would work alongside the contemporary layout of the new commercial areas
- Reliable technical and customer support from both ASSA ABLOY and a local system integrator
- Cost-effective solution to meet project budgets
The solution
Back-office access control at Dubai’s new Hyatt is now future-proofed. Local system integrator Al Futtaim Technologies installed a mix of online and offline Aperio® electronic access control devices. To date, 25 online E100 escutcheons and 51 offline E900 escutcheons have been fitted. Aperio® enables security managers at the new Hyatt to monitor doors remotely; to open doors wirelessly; and to create audit trails for specific staff-access only doors on demand.
Attractive Aperio® component design ensures new escutcheons complement the contempo-rary feel of the Hyatt’s new commercial back-office space. Aperio® wireless escutcheons are easy to install and linked to the access control systems. Aperio® equipped doors are operated with standard RFID smartcards and powered by standard batteries. It will be easy to incorporate additional Aperio® locks should the hotel need them.
Aperio® offered a cost effective solution that did not require any cabling, and good tech-nical and commercial support.
